This book belonged to my grandmother, and I think it is a beautiful story which has extra appeal because it is set in a time that is so strange to me. Imagine going to buy a new head for your doll, because the porcelain broke. Today, you wouldn't have a porcelain doll to start with, and if you broke it, you'd either buy a new one or not bother because you already have sixty more.
