WOW, just WOW! I really enjoyed Playing Hooky, but this book was AMAZING! I had so much fun with Emma and Jason and loved the alternating point of views, they were great for this tale.

Emma is faced with a missing sister and now she is home dealing with her distraught parents, missing girls in the town, and an influx of supernatural beings. Jason is trying to figure out who/what he is and on top of that he wants to know why all the girls are missing. They work together with a spectacular cast of characters to solve the mystery and try to save the girls. What I think is great about this series is that, it is called the 'Paranormal Investigations' series - an normally what you get with such a series is a lot of non-related mysteries solved by the same people - here you are getting a bigger and better story with each mystery and I adore that.

What I loved most about this book was the romance, Jason is wonderful to Emma and I swoon over that. Their interactions are adorable and I love reading about characters being in love - it is wonderful, especially around Valentine's Day (I am a sucker, I know it). And I won't spoil it, but there are huge plot bombs dropped throughout this book about Emma and Angelina that were OMG moments for me - I definitely didn't see them coming (and normally I am pretty good at that).

This book is for a more mature audience as it does have some sexual content, but it is done very tastefully. It also is a pretty short book, which I read in one sitting, and it had a wonderful flow and the plot was deep enough to keep me reading. I am very interested to see where this series is going - there is a lot of plot development left to come and I am super excited about it all.

Fan of paranormal romance and an New Adult reader, you should pick this one up. It is a lot of fun for a quick read.

I waited to review this book because I was one of Rita's beta readers, and because I'm a terrible judge of YA fiction. I don't like simple plot lines, so most YA doesn't interest me. However, and this is a big however, Tears is not simple. While there aren't as many subplots as you'd see in adult fiction, Tears has a lot to say in the white space. Originally, I worried might be "beyond" younger readers but I was wrong.

My daughter (13) read Tears after it arrived Friday afternoon. By Saturday morning she'd finished. Saturday evening, she picked it up to read one more time. She related to Lelea, saying she felt as though she were traveling through the story with her. She also liked the message that Tears gives. And yes, she did understand the subtext and totally got what was in the white space.

For those of you that haven't read Tears, I sound like I've lost my mind, but you'll understand if you read it. I recommend that you do. It is a beautiful story that encourages readers to embrace what makes us different.

It has been a while since I read the first book in this series, Playing Hooky, but I remember it being light and fun and whimsical - this book was not like that. Angelina is Emma's sister and if you have read the first book in the series you know that she is also the reason for all the craziness in the first book. So first off, it was hard to put out of my head that she was the enemy when I began reading this book. This installment was much darker than the first, internal demons and the hurt of not being wanted, there was even rape and a lot of violence.

Don't get me wrong though, this was a great book. I am so glad that we got to see this story from Angelina's POV and we got more of the Hunter - who was just so mysterious in the first book. I really enjoyed reading these points of view.

Angelina is so broken and it is so depressing but she is able to eventually pull herself back and I think it will lead to a lot of good things to come for her in the rest of the series.

The Hunter is still very soft spoken in this book, but we learn a lot about why he hunts and his background and I really liked learning about his story, I think his tie in to the overall series is going to be huge! :) (Obviously just speculation from me though).

I really did like how this book dealt with the darker side of the story and I am so glad this book was written and we learn about what possessed Angelina to lash out at her sister in book 1.
