- L. S. White was a minister of the churches of Christ, most remembered for his debate with Charles Taze Russell, founder of the Watch Tower Society, held in Cincinatti in 1908. He was also a pioneer in the churches of Christ in doing "local work" with a single congregation (instead of preaching a succession of meeting engagements for different congregations), and in the use of radio evangelism. He was listed in Ligon's Portraiture of Preachers of 1899.
