This is an exceptional and enormously valuable book, if only for the raw fact of its existance. Lewy Body Dementia is nearly nonexistant in the public awareness, yet neither is it a rare or orphan disease by any stretch of the imagination. Even doctors are unfamiliar with this disease. Despite its lack of fame, this disease strikes many older people with the combined symptions of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. So, you can see how timely and valuable this book is, particularly to those with loved ones suffering from this symdrome. The book is easy to read, in no small part due to being chock full of stories and examples, as well as having practical, step by step checklists for many caregiver situations. Excellent.… (mehr)

A Caregiver’s Guide to Lewy Body Dementia is an excellent, practical overview for anyone caring for a loved one with Lewy Body Dementia. In addition, the first chapter should be read by anyone who has had a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Lewy Body Dementia is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer’s Disease, and treatment differs.

I would recommend this book to anyone who may either be or think they may become a caregiver for someone with LBD.

The book provides information not only on what Lewy Body Dementia is but how it differs from Alzheimer's and other dementias and also how it is similar.

The material is respectful towards both caregivers and those with dementia. There are examples throughout the book that emphasize the material, caregivers are made aware of what questions to ask, what health care providers may or may not be aware of, and what caregivers will be facing.… (mehr)

anyone caring for aging parent would find this book informative. Reading this book will help you to ask the right questions during doctors visits and have input in the care of your loved ones. There aappears to be limited information for caregivers in a language they can understand. The authorshave done a great job providing detailed instructions to addressing needs of those battling the disease.
