Full Review on my blog!

I am so in love with this series!! This book delves deeper into some of the internal struggles of every character. I loved that Yumoyori really explored the depths of these characters in Tainted Rose. I think it gave the book just that little bit extra to push it over the edge into fantastic amazing-ness.

Tainted Rose is the second book in the Starlight Gods series, and picks up where Dark Wish left off. We’ve got Mako in a coma, Eli/Elias is riddled with poison and the rest of the Knights are feeling very lost without the glue that Mako creates. Without giving much away in this review, this second book is all about the boys. Each of the knights and their spirits are given a chance to shine and the reader to learn more about them. The reader also meets Kai – which is awesome! I know there are many POVs but they were necessary, we get to look through Makoto’s knight’s minds, and their spirits minds and it really adds to each characters development. I absolutely love everyone’s perspective, I love when authors do this, I love hearing all the characters thoughts.

Once again, this is an amazing story that completely gripped from the first word to the last. Mako is just as quirky as she was in the first book. I love how we see the different spirits to each of them, plus how the Knights all have their own very individual characters, and their own histories too. We read more about Daniel and Elias’ past. I really enjoyed seeing Marcus’ dragon come out to play! Oh and don’t even get me start on Kai and his phoenix. . . omggg. Yumoyori just keeps on bringing on the hotness with these men and I seriously can’t handle it! I really feel for Elias and I really hope that he can open up to Mako soon and let her in. I would also love to get more of Azriel, I loved the dynamic between him and Stryker, and the silly little tiff that they have going on. . . I giggle every time at it. It seemed very natural to have a demon and angel bang heads and not want to admit that they actually are besties hahaha. . .

Tainted Rose had just about everything that I was looking for in this book, it was funny, creative, suspenseful, melt your panties sexy and just down right good. So much more is revealed in this book than I first anticipated. I really cannot wait to read the next book in this series! I highly recommend reading this series!

Also, Leo is back haha and just as annoying as before!! ANDDD, a freaking CLIFFHANGER!!!! Ahhhaha

Full Review on my blog!

Ever since reading Yumoyori's Starlight Gods series, I've been in love with her books, soo when I saw this, I knew I HAD to read it.

Wolf Tamer has the most heartbreaking beginning I've ever read. I haven't cried while reading a book in a while, until this book. It follows Harper, an orphaned girl adopted by a couple running a wolf sanctuary. But Harper is no ordinary girl, and she soon learns that the wolves she surrounds herself with are a more than they seem as well.

The story is told a little different from the other books I've read by her, we see Harper growing up from her 5 year old self on to the age of 20-ish. I really liked that this book gave us a look into her life growing up and her getting closer to Ian and the wolves at the sanctuary.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the relationship between Harper and Ian because they started out as best friends and as the story progresses, they start to fall in love.

We don't get to see much of her harem until near the end of the book, well except for Ian, who has been with Harper for most of her life, but we do get a few quick looks at the rest of the pack.

A LOT happens near the end and it ends on a cliffhanger! I LOVED Wolf Tamer and I can’t wait to read book 2~

~Blog Tour ~February 22nd, 2018 ~ Dark Wish BY Yumoyori Wilson~
Full Review on my blog!

I don’t even know where to start!

Okay, first off, I LOVE the cover~

This book is incredible! The characters, plot, world-building is so amazing, unique, and unlike anything, I’ve read before. Dark Wish will hook you from the start, and you won’t want to stop reading. I absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the description, but wasn’t sure if I’d like it because I thought, “oh no! Is this going to be similar to The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer??”… I mean, the whole “missing princess” but I was proven wrong! Similar in that way only, because Cinder wasn’t kidnapped as a child, like Makoto (Princess Rosalind of Helia).

Dark Wish follows Makoto, the adorable but slightly ‘crazy’ main character. Makoto, kidnapped at a very young age, is a prisoner/slave/experiment to ‘the Owner’ (Blair Aspen). Honestly, this beginning part is the perfect insight into how long she’s been living this life of trials and torment and how she’s the Owners’ favourite.

She does get rescued by 4 of her knights; Ryder, Elias, Daniel, and Marcus, there is a 5th Knight, Kai, but he’s back in Helia. But yeah, she gets rescued, and things finally change for her, in a good way, in a way that she never thought would happen; she gets to live in the ‘real’ world, a world outside of the facility.

Makoto strives to be normal but normal is hard when she was born to be different, and stand out. There is a prophecy about her that the Starlight Gods will bless her with 4 spirits (which is VERY rare, and no one ever has coped with that many spirits). But Makoto is such a strong character, that she can in fact cope with all of them! Also, having all these spirits makes Makoto soo powerful. She wields a power unlike any ever seen before, which is why the “Owner” favoured her. We also get to know and love her 4 spirits; Rose, Lexi, Lilly, Hope, and a ‘split personality’, Midnight. (There’s a reason I quoted “split personality” which I can’t say because of spoilers for the second book, which I just recently finished.) She converses with these spirits/powers in her mind. And it is hilarious! I absolutely loved Makoto and her shifter inhabitants. It’s one of my favourite things about this book! I love how it affected Makoto. It seemed perfectly reasonable that she would be a little too inside her head… orrrrr not, sometimes taking her internal conversations public without even realizing it, which was amazing btw! And the reactions from the people around her are great!

OMg Chapter 9 “operation badass bitch” was my favourite!! Makoto is such a strong character, and I thought this chapter really showed it!

This book had some of everything; action, romance, suspense, and humor. It really was a fantastic read. I still can’t get over how creative this author is! The world-building and backstory are exceptional. The characters are multi-layered and very intricate. THE CLIFFHANGER THOUGH!!! Brutal and shocking. It made me want to get the second book sooo bad! haha… but in my opinion, the ending felt really sudden…maybe a little tooo sudden… and I’m kinda disappointed with it.

I can’t wait to read more from this author!! I highly recommend it!

This series just continues to get better and better. With the cat out of the bag as to what Crim's supposed father did to her and her mother while pregnant....at least things begin to make sense. Who knew she'd be more powerful than that jerk (her now EX father and EX councilman) who tortured her her entire life. A Kitsune huh??? And a nine tailed one at that with mage power to boot. Then to learn the man she adored from childhood, her mother's ex partner is her true father? That WAS indeed worth learning....and now they knew why she'd been so sick. What's terrifying is had he and her guys not shown up early to her family house, she'd have died. HE had bound her powers in the womb, then hid her power weapons, and stored her power within them. Had she not claimed them by her birthday she'd be dead just like he intended. It seemed Fate, or maybe Storm had some other ideas in that department. This book is filled with even more action, intrigue, excitement, betrayal, love, and slowly Crim coming into her own. She and her guys are still on the trail of the missing familiar stones for her watch. As she gains each gem it's such a home coming to meet and love each new familiar. She's also slowly learning about her Kitsune half. After all, having been thought human all these years nobody cared to teach her the history.

Have fun diving down this rabbit (or should I say foxhole) with Crim and her loves. All kinds of insanity happens...both good and bad....all leading Crimson to the truth. I have a feeling this is only the beginning. Don't count our girl out, for she's quick, smart, in love, has a huge heart, and will fight for what's hers. She refuses to let her guys or her country down. Many harsh trials and betrayals are set before her...yet she rises to the challenge...maybe bruised, but triumphant....and it is all leading somewhere. Book three will DEFINITELY be one heckuva read, and I'm greatly looking forward for that release. Three cheers for Crim and her loves!!
