Bert lives in a world where magic is not welcome, in fact, the government is trying to make everyone believe it was never real and certainly not in existence today. Bert dreams of magic and a life of adventure, but he has learned to hide the desire from everyone. That is until an accident at an anti magic museum display reveals his magic ability. Once his powers are revealed, he works at hiding it sending him an the magic adventure he always dreamed of.

Bert was a very likable character that you rooted for throughout. Highly recommended for middle school age.
