This novel, and its sequel (the start of a new series), were interesting. The mystery and premise were solid and engaging. My only issue was the steamy, and for the storyline - literarily forced, sex scenes between the main characters. The addition of romance and the occasional scene is fine, but not the 6 page romance novel / omg angst fare every "x" pages/scenes that this included. If this were a romance novel, ok (I suppose*), but this is a paranormal type mystery that didn't require it for the plot, and frankly drew away from the plot and made the novel less than it should have been. I hope the author comes to understand that the story/plot is quite good enough without this aspect -- especially as the series has an ongoing premise that is of interest.

So the tl:dr summary is -- this is a good mystery, if you aren't into steamy and oddly placed sex scenes - skip them, the story is good enough on its own.

* Please note, per my profile caveat, I don't like novels with gratuitous sex / romance for the sake of the scene - as is the case with most romance novels, however as a logical and/or appropriate part of the story its fine. This is only my opinion, you may really like them.

(this is a duplicated review of the first novel in this series)

Nice motor cycle romance. This was not a 1 percenter motor cycle club but rather guys who were bounty hunters for the most part. Every thing happened pretty fast and without any major conflict between the hero and heroine. Most of the conflict was external. The hero was a sweetie though so I forgave that and just enjoyed it for what it was.

Devoted Hero.
Previously abused heroine.
Some memories of abuse, not huge detail.
Bit of violence.
HEA, in form of HFN throughout series.
