A WWI historical novel that starts in 1926 New York where a much-loved priest in The Bronx has been brutally murdered. With a vagrant arrested for the crime, struggling lawyer Mark Kingsley is roped in to the defense, only to find the accused is his old best friend and fellow-flyer from WWI days in the Lafayette Flying Corps, but who higher-authority seem strangely determined to convict.
