I enjoy romances with a bit of humor and the ability to enjoy the simple things in life. I also enjoy Celtic & Scottish heroes and knights. I enjoy mystery, adventure, fantasy, "light"(not occult) magical and mythical creatures or characters, time travel and sci-fi stories too.
However, I do not like evil, vicious, torturing scenes or villains and especially not vivid descriptive details. I can tolerate having that type of thing alluded to if it's needed for the story but not the graphic rendering with all the details. I like it when the villians aren't all bad and sometimes become better people by the end of the story.
