I am the author of four novels, four books of short stories, and a winner of a San Francisco Arts Commission Grant for Literature. My latest, "A Slender Tether" (Fireship Press 2013) is a historical novel set in Europe in the 1390s and dramatizes the early life of the first woman to make her living as a writer, Christine de Pizan; my previous work, "The Mandrake Broom" (Firebrand Books), dramatizes the fight to save medical knowledge during the witchburning times in Europe 1465-1540.
