I love to read. I learned to read when I was four and it's always been a big part of my life. If I find an author I like, and that happens quite a lot, I try to read everything they've written. Conversely, if a book doesn't take my interest in the first chapter, I don't persevere with it - although at one time, I used to. I rarely buy a book to keep unless I've already read it and I know I'll read it again. I'm also a reading teacher so I'm always looking for something that will interest a reluctant reader. My bookshelf contains many books that I've had since I was a child myself and I often pull one off the shelf to try and motivate a student. Sometimes it works.
