Über meine Bibliothek
My book collection is huge and varied. In the livingroom we have two bookshelves on either side of the double window. It contains photography books,my collection of signed mysteries, as well as books by Maryland authors and about Maryland. My favorite part of Maryland is the Eastern Shore, and I have several books about that part of the state. We also have some history and art books. I also have a large collection of cookbooks including some oversized picture books that concentrate on specific countries. In my "office," there are two white bookcases crammed full of paperbacks: mysteries, scifi, history, literature, fiction, biography. What can I say - I LOVE books!
Über mich
I'm a mass of contradictions. Although I just turned 64, I keep on looking in the mirror searching for an old person. Reading is my biggest passion but I also love photography and dabbling in paper arts as well as digital scrapbooking. Born in Philadelphia, I left with my husband in 1971 when he was offered a divilian job with the US Army in Germany. We spent a year in Iowa while he was taking some advanced training. In 1972 we moved to Germany and lived there for 7 years. Our son was born in 1979, and we decided it was time to go back to he could grow up near his grandparents. We moved to Maryland, a move that I thought would be temporary, but became permanent. Our son has since grown up. He graduated from LaSalle University in Philadelphia and is now the Marketing and Communications Director for a local charitable organization. He bought his first house in South Philadelphia, right around the corner from where I lived as a baby. He is engaged to a wonderful young woman and they are getting married in September. They just bought a home in the Mt Airy section of Philadelphia. We have two cats. Kinsey is a diminutive all white cat. She is slim and quick and despite being nearly eight years old is still a kitten at heart. Spenser is what is called a tuxedo which means he is black and white. He also weights 25 lb! My husband is planning to retire in the next year, and we'll be moving back to Philly. I can't wait! Meanwhile, I work for a large corporation that maintains a huge database of commercial real estate information and resells that information to commercial brokers. It's a good company to work for and it's only a short drive from home. I went back to college when I was in my late 50's and graduated from our local community college with associate degrees in English and Legal Studies.
