Über meine Bibliothek
As mentioned above, the library is now only a remnant of what once was. It included a collection of publishers' copies sent to me over the years when I did talk radio in New Orleans on WWL. I am also an Amazon addict and have eclectic interests which are mirrored in the books I kept. Many are signed by authors who were guests on my show. I have about 150 or so publications from and dealing with Naples, Italy where I lived and with which I have maintained close contact for 50 years. Many of these books are not located by this site's search engines because of their limited publication runs, or their extremely local focus on the Neapolitan dialect, architecture and such. Same for my Buddhist library. Many of the books given to me in paperback form by their author, The Venerable Narada Thera, I had bound in leather in Saigon. I also have complete boxed collection of the fabulous "Geo" Magazine from 1979-1983 including the "Premiere and Charter" issues. Way ahead of its time but still the best photo journalism magazine I have ever seen. Shame tough economics of the period forced them to fold.
Über mich
I am a retired broadcast and print journalist. Have lived in Europe, Southeast Asia, and Tokyo, Japan. Speak Italian and Spanish, private pilot, other varied interests. I spent 1966-67 as a civilian correspondent in South Vietnam where I also filmed documentaries for The American Red Cross. Details in my biog on my web site. Following hurricane Katrina which hit right here where I live, I really thinned out my library donating ship shipping carton boxes of books to the devastated Pass Christian, MS library, some 250 books, thinking I would move from here. I stayed. Just for the heck of it, after recently discovering this site, I thought I would do an inventory of the books that I kept. Great fun for an old guy.
