Über meine Bibliothek
Books with created languages feature prominently, as do any reference texts that help me with my research of these languages. I've also included things that I simply enjoy reading.
Über mich
I study author-created languages in literature – this entails looking at books across genres and time periods to focus on any case where an author chose to make an invented language (like Dwarvish or Lilliputian) for their characters to speak rather than using a naturally occurring language. I trace the historical progression of these languages to match them to contemporary thought in formal linguistics and I look at the languages themselves to examine their presentation in context as well as to see how authors make them accessible to readers when only the writer has any knowledge of the language.
