Hello! I am a French student working on the two earliest Trollope novels, set in Ireland The Kellys and the O'Kellys and The Macdermots of Ballycloran. I am trying to draw a bridge between his years in Ireland and his perception of Irishness, the issues of the time and his take on the Anglo-Irish novel (far from the usual stereotypes and kinder than in William Carleton's works).

That sounds great. Good luck with that.
Some years ago I also wrote an MA thesis on Trollope, which has now evolved into a PhD project...

I am glad to see you have been working further on Trollope and I must admit I have become addicted to his work! It has definitely grown on me. My university is pretty bad when it comes to access to e-journals and e-databases, as they don't have access to JSTOR, LION or Project MUSE. Because they are French-centric, rather than international, I am starting to question my choice for a distance MA in English (one of two unis in France to do so), because they don't give online bibliographical access to things that should be accessible as a matter of course, so I am thinking of abandoning my MA for the time being. This is one of the reasons. The other one is that the uni's administration and the lecturers keep 'losing' my homework (even when recorded): they forget about marking or wait three months for marking, which I find unacceptable. In any case, I'll probably come back to it with my 'old' UK university, but for the time being, I'll just try to get on with other things and life in general!
