I'm dying to have another round of Crambo, so I'm thinking of a word that rhymes with "abundant".

This guess is probably unnecessary.

#2 as is this answer too, probably!

Not: redundant
Alpha not: redundant

A ____ of lechers?

#4 The mind boggles! I think I'm struggling a bit here to find rhyme. Do you like a codefendant of lechers? Probably not!

Not: redundant, codefendant
Alpha not: codefendant, redundant

Rodney, if you can't solve #4, that must be a wrong guess. Actually, that use of the word is so obscure, it's not even in my Random House Unabridged, so you have no reason the feel embarrassed. I've only seen it used once, decades ago during my debauched youth, in Playboy magazine. The editors felt a need to expand the repertoire of collective nouns such as a gaggle of geese, murder of crows, etc. Only one of the additions made an impression to be remembered lo these many years: a pant of lechers.

#6 If I was English, I supposed I'd have to say that your suggestion was pants, but I'm not, so I won't! Crambo's word this round actually ends in 'dant'.

Are there lots and lots of words, then?

#8 I'm not so tricksy for it to be abundant, but its not overabundant, nor superabundant neither.

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant
Alpha not: abundant, codefendant, overabundant, pant, redundant, superabundant

And here am I prancing around in glorious feathers and jewels...

#10 You look totally resplendent! Watch out for the lechers, and don't catch cold!

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant, resplendent
Alpha not: abundant, codefendant, overabundant, pant, redundant, resplendent, superabundant

I am definitely certain I won't allow lechers. I'll bash them with my handbag or squash them like insects.

#12 I never quite got the New Wave pirate thing!

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant, resplendent, adamant
Alpha not: abundant, adamant, codefendant, overabundant, pant, redundant, resplendent, superabundant

There's two guesses here - if I stand on top of a vanquished foe I look........ and I feel ..........

#14 I suspect I'd look triumphant and feel exultant if I'd worked out the Crambo word too! Don't forget that 'd'.

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant, resplendent, adamant, triumphant, exultant
Alpha not: abundant, adamant, codefendant, exultant, overabundant, pant, redundant, resplendent, superabundant, triumphant

I did forget the 'd' and there wasn't one in my other guess'dominant' At least, not in the right place! I suppose it depends on how much time I want to spend thinking up answers!

Astrologers think this "rising sign" reflects awakening consciousness. My awakening consciousness is usually reflected by a stretch and a groan.

#17 My horrorscope for today says to beware of predictions! Not ascendant. My first message contains a clue as a pun.

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant, resplendent, adamant, triumphant, exultant, ascendant
Alpha not: abundant, adamant, ascendant, codefendant, exultant, overabundant, pant, redundant, resplendent, superabundant, triumphant

Ok so it's not 'dependant,' and I don't expect you to tell me a secret either. I'll be back!

#19 I suspected that there was a clue in #16, but I couldn't work out anything to do with taking time, or thinking up answers. And you are correct, I won't make you my confidant!

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant, resplendent, adamant, triumphant, exultant, ascendant, dependant, confidant
Alpha not: abundant, adamant, ascendant, codefendant, confidant, dependant, exultant, overabundant, pant, redundant, resplendent, superabundant, triumphant

This is a green and pleasant land but it doesn't fit with your suggestion of a clue.

22rodneyvc
Mrz. 8, 2013, 7:51 am

England definitely is verdant, and probably isn't Jerusalem! Crambo's word is sort of the opposite! You have the last five letters correct.

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant, resplendent, adamant, triumphant, exultant, ascendant, dependant, confidant, verdant
Alpha not: abundant, adamant, ascendant, codefendant, confidant, dependant, exultant, overabundant, pant, redundant, resplendent, superabundant, triumphant, verdant

Am I still out of tune with your thinking?

24rodneyvc
Mrz. 8, 2013, 4:05 pm

#23 I'm afraid that you are still quite discordant, but you are an extra final letter closer. Only one to go!

Not: redundant, codefendant, pant, abundant, overabundant, superabundant, resplendent, adamant, triumphant, exultant, ascendant, dependant, confidant, verdant, discordant
Alpha not: abundant, adamant, ascendant, codefendant, confidant, dependant, discordant, exultant, overabundant, pant, redundant, resplendent, superabundant, triumphant, verdant

Are you being caustic, biting and pungent?

26rodneyvc

#25 I was recalling recalling childhood experimentation with dyeing homespun wool with a variety of coloured plant materials. The mordant helped the colours to bite. Well done oldstick, over to you.

OK, but I'm beginning to wish I hadn't tried so hard!
