Book of the Week: Ian Bostridge - Schubert's Winter Journey

Book of the Week is Ian Bostridge's Schubert's Winter Journey. I had already ordered this from the local library (two weeks ago) and today was advised that it is available. BBC and libraries have to be two of the greatest UK achievements!

Agreed - a pity that the library services and the BBC are under threat from a government ideology that favours the dismantling or privatization of any public service.

Ian Bostridge's book is fascinating and illuminating, and the broadcast is peppered with the music. Well worth listening to.

I should have said "mobile library" - even better! It's apparently going to be cut this year...
