Just finished reading Silver Wings For Vicki by Helen Wells; published 1947. I loved this lovely little vintage YA mystery. It reminds me of the Nancy Drew series. I am going to try and collect the entire series. My new passion is reading vintage mysteries. In these scary times, I like to escape to the mid-century years for light entertainment.

Oh, gosh, I loved those when I was a kid! For a while, I wanted to be what was then called a stewardess.

>1 JaneAustenNut: Have you seen the "Vintage Series Books for Girls" website? There's a lot of good information there on these older YA mystery series, including lists of titles and galleries of covers.

Here's the website: http://www.series-books.com/

I noticed your post elsewhere regarding The Windmill Mystery but didn't get around to replying. I haven't read that one but have read a few others by J. Jefferson Farjeon in the past couple years. I was introduced to him thanks to the British Library Crime Classics reprints and have been able to find a couple old copies of his books, too. Quite enjoyable! I'm looking forward to getting the HarperCollins Collins Crime Club reprints of the Farjeon novels starring Ben the tramp.

> harrygbutler: I haven't seen that site yet, but, thanks for the info. I will investigate. Also, I did love The Windmill Mystery. Is the British Library Crime Classics and the HarperCollins Collins Crime Club British sources. How can I access those, and are they websites?

>4 JaneAustenNut: Both the British Library Crime Classics and the HarperCollins Crime Club reprints offer printed books; I think both may be published both in the UK and in the United States.

The publisher for the British Library Crime Classics series in the U.S. is Poisoned Pen Press: http://www.poisonedpenpress.com/genre/british-library/.

It has been a bit harder to track down just what is available (or will be) in the HarperCollins reprints, as the publisher's websites are really bad. I got one online (from Book Depository, I think, but I'm not sure now). If you go here: https://www.harpercollins.com/search-results/?category=FIC022,JUV028&order=r... and then choose the imprint "Collins Crime Club" in the left-hand column you should get a list.
