It's normal that the wealthy are treated differently than somebody like Ivy would be. Not right, but probably normal in most countries.

I agree with you all. They shouldn't get VIP treatment but it's inevitable.
...however. The police should be more sensitive to keeping strict confidence because the press will try to reveal all to the public. Poor Ivy and anything that happens to her or her family wouldn't even get on the back page...

They should get respect and empathy but so should every other family. 500 years and class still rules. We aren't much better though.

No they shouldn't but I can understand a bit more care only because of the added interest from the press. Because of the press there's more scrutiny of what the police are doing as well as the victim/victims family.
As far as the actual investigation/process itself, I think that should not be defined by the status of the victim or her family.
