I'm in Fort Lauderdale part of the year, and New York the other part of the year. But I'm the opposite of a snowbird (up there when it's cold, down here when it's hot/wet).
But I'm Florida born-and-raised!

Hi All -
I've been up here in Washington State for the last 17 years, but was born in central FL and raised over in Seminole in Pinellas Co. Most of my family still lives in central Florida & I try to get back at least once a year... still consider myself a Florida Cracker. ;-)
They say change is constant, but I lament the disappearance of "old" Florida. Evertime I visit, more and more of the beautiful country is paved over. If nothing else, I can relive the past through a good book. If anyone has some good recommendations on good Florida fiction/non-fiction, please post 'em. Thanks!
BTW, Here are some of my own books I have relating to FL if you'd like to check 'em out: http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?tag=Florida&view=wabucsfan

I'm also up North when it's cold, just because holidays and birthdays fall in the winter months. I travel to Maryland and Pittsburgh, but I'm in Florida when it 's hot hot hot.

Northwest Florida....where the beaches are the whitest and the water is the bluest and people are the friendliest....*grin*
