Are you surprised how quickly it collapsed for the Argentines?

Not all all. The whole idea they were working with depended on them not being discovered and the Chinese finding their proof that they were the first. I do believe their plan was doomed from the moment the Chinese knew about the Silent Sea.

no - it was a big chance and too many things had to work in their favor for this to work.

I was very surprised. In fact, I felt short-changed given some of the high octane scenes we've been served up in other books in the series; this end play was a bit too flat. It would've been more exciting watching a row of dominoes topple...

It did all collapse very quickly, more quickly than I would have thought. I agree there did seem a little lacking in excitement for these books in the end. Very surprising.
