Does Juan seem more vulnerable in this book than previous ones?

He appears to be more "human" with frailties in this book. This is book #9 so he's been taking super human chances for almost ten years. Still has a pretty good track record. I think the author is realizing that he needs to tone down the Superman image. In reality he can't win all the time. It will make the series more believable if the future authors continue the trend.

'Vulnerable' is not a word I'd use about Juan Cabrillo. I don't think he's ready to hang up his boots yet...

Not necessarily “vulnerable” but he does seem to be taking on the blame for more things than usual

He seems much more emotionally connected to everything in this one.

I like the fact that he is not being presented as superman, definitely showing he is human.

>2 Carol420: Can’t wait to read a Boyd Morrison co-authored book, he is one of my favourite authors.

I think he does seem more human in this book. He is getting older too so that may have been part of the reason to tone down his supernatural qualities.
