Should Juan have contacted Overholt sooner?

he tried but Overholt didn't think the info he had was going to make a difference - though he did warn Juan that the crews would be on high alert due to the destination. Then, he called him as soon as he knew he wasn't going to be able to talk his way out of things.

I don't like Overolt much sometimes. It's almost like he doesn't care as long as the mission gets carried out. I guess that's the way of most commanders.

Yes, Juan should have invoked Overholt's name straightaway. I was surprised when he didn't.
