She did have some sort of agreement with Yates (I can't remember what it was) so she is honoring that, which is probably the right thing to do. But it seems she'll be rather lonely because of it.

I think they rescued each other for different reasons. She protects Russell from being questioned about his sexual relationships and he gives her the protection of his name, reputation, and money. Plus, it puts her beyond the reach of Sebastian.

Yates married Kat to protect her from Jarvis after she was outed as a spy for the French so I think she may be putting her life (or at least her freedom) at risk if she were to leave him. Also, she has always felt that she would not be an appropriate wife for Sebastian no matter what he thought and I think that would keep her from accepting anything more from him

Kat seems to want to bide by her agreement with Russell Yates as the consequences is not one she would want to endure. I agree with >4 bhabeck: that Kat feels she would not be an appropriate wife for Sebastian because of her profession.

Yes. Kat knows her place in society, and it is not as the wife of Sebastian St. Cyr - especially as that would mean she was also a divorcée.
