What are you hoping fir from this book?

Any thoughts on Lacey Flint as a character?

Lacey is one of my least favorite characters. I don't think I care much about any of the main characters but the stories are usually okay. They have all been 4 Star reads for me up to this point.

I don't think I would read this series if we weren't doing it as a group. The discussions make it more enjoyable.

I had read the first 2 books quiet sometime ago. I know what >2 Olivermagnus: means...none of the characters are particularly likable. I didn't like Dana's attitude as a leader and Lacey was all over the board with her actions. Characters can have issues and be undecided in the beginning of a series but they should have some attributes that will draw the reader back and work up a little sympathy for them.

I haven't figured out why Sharon Bolton wants her characters to come across as they do. Readers have to somewhat at least like some of them. Oh well, she's the author!

I don't want to second guess Andrew and Heaven Forbid I NEVER EVER want to take over his job...but since he probably got busy and just forgot to post the schedule..I just added 15 chapters to yesterdays read and continued on.

Yes I did forget to post it on the Mystery and Suspense Group, it can be found on the home page of this group read towards the top. Section two takes us to the end of Chapter 33.

Long hours at moment as I try to decide whether I open the school on 1st June as instructed, or whether I refuse to.

>7 Andrew-theQM: DUH!! I never thought to look at the top. When to open anything is not a decision that i would want responsibility for. Heard on the news this morning that our schools may open on August 1 and run through August 1 of 2021.

>6 Andrew-theQM: For what it's worth, Andrew, I think it's a stupid move opening the schools, or even easing lockdown at this point - Boris should have given it another couple of weeks to see how Europe fared first, seeing as they're at least two weeks (if not more) ahead of us. I'm not convinced two more weeks would've left us any worse off economically. I was disappointed that, having been through it himself, Boris didn't take things a bit more cautiously.

>1 Andrew-theQM: I agree completely with the comments that this series revolves around a bunch of predominantly unlikeable characters.

ps I'm running a bit behind, (as usual! ☺️).

Been looking at the schedule of Group Reads and what I can get hold of whilst libraries are shut. I had hoped to read the last books in The Camel Club Series but i can’t get hold of it.

Only three books that I can get hold of at the moment, which are next up in a series for us:

The Gallery of the Dead by Chris Carter, #9 in the Robert Hunter Series.

The Gathering Dark by James Oswald, #8 in the Inspector McLean Series

The Scent of Death by Simon Beckett, #6 in the Doctor David Hunter Series.

Therefore if others can get hold of them can I suggest these are the next three Group Reads.

Do let me know.

>12 Andrew-theQM: - I can't get any of them but I'm not surprised as these are all authors i would have to have the library order for me. Please, if others can get them...go ahead with the read and I'll hang out.

Right now I only have the James Oswald book but I have ordered the other two but won't get them until June 17th for the Chris Carter and probably end of June for Simon Beckett's book
