Darned pandemic

This coming weekend shoulda woulda coulda been the annual Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference book sale, at which I usually buy way too many books.

Of course, it's not happening.

And, of course, I am now planning a move, and trying to get rid of books, so I couldn't give them any, either. And the Newberry doesn't want books, and Powell's isn't making house calls (though I can drop off no more than 6 boxes by appointment). I have taken a slew to Open Books.

This just all feels so wrong!

So wrong.

I'm trying to remind myself to support my local booksellers, despite having many unread books on my shelves already. We did purchase several books for school from the store selling new books, but I've not yet visited the used bookshop. Maybe this weekend.

I'm sorry. If I were still in the area I'd take your unwanted books!

>1 lilithcat: Goodwill always takes books and I know they are back taking donations, but I know I prefer to give to libraries, too.

I've taken several bags of books to Powell's and even more to Open Books.

And it doesn't even look as though I've made a dent!

I just noticed that the last entry in Newberry's Book Fair blog is back in June. Any one know what happened to Dan Crawford who ran the book fair?
