Hey everyone! We are very pleased to launch our first monthly Early Reviewers batch with our newly redesigned ER program!
We have a huge batch this month: 164 titles, with 3,893 copies. This is three times as many titles as last month.
You will notice the different look immediately. But there are other significant changes in both functionality and rules. See Early Reviewers Redesign and Relaunch. (Let's keep this topic about the books.)
So, which books are you hoping to win? https://www.librarything.com/ner

Oh, dear. Monkey time.
" Problem with the concurrent query manager in the LibraryThing Bureau of Garbage Collections.
We have an entire room of trained monkeys working to solve the problem.."

I noticed that the listing for Mister N says "Offered by And Other Stories (Publicist)". Should that not be "Publisher"? Because And Other Stories is a publisher - and one with a scary good list, too.

>5 lilithcat: The member offering the giveaway can now select the following options: author, publisher, publicist. Sometimes the latter is an independent publicist, working for the author. Sometimes they work for the publisher, as a consultant. And sometimes they're a publisher employee. I'm not sure exactly which of these it is, in this case.
Edited to add: I was very happy to see that one in the batch, as I always like to see more translated literature.

Thanks for the explanation.
And I agree with you about liking to see more translated literature.

>1 AbigailAdams26: I wanted to keep this to book discussion, but the link you posted to the Redesign and Relaunch thread just went back to this thread :)
Just a quick question, is there any way we can filter by country like we used to? It just saves those of us not in North America having to go through all the US-only and US/Canada-only options. Thank you!
I've requested Where We Call Home by Josephine Woolington, which sounds right up my (metaphorical, not literal) street!

>9 Jackie_K: Sorry about that! The link wasn't working properly because I made a mistake with my html. It should work now—thanks for bringing that to my attention.
There is no way to filter by country, with new ER, but titles unavailable in your country will automatically be sorted to the bottom of the list, and you will see that the Request button is pinked out, notifying you that that book is unavailable.

The ER listing for Made Man by Jendi Reiter has the author's surname incorrectly spelled as "Jeiter". I've corrected it in the work, but the correction hasn't feed through to the ER listing, are least not at the time I'm writing.

So very excited to see a Susan Wiggs. Fingers crossed!

I'm getting an error that reads "Error! Only Personal accounts can sign up for Early Reviewers." I didn't change anything so I'm not sure what happened.

On the page of past wins, the big "Review" button is the same for books marked as unreceived as it is for the other books. That gives an impression that we're supposed to review even the books that don't show up in our mail. Can that blue button be grayed out or otherwise changed for unreceived books?
