Group Read, June 2023: The Wings of the Dove

Thick prose but very interesting. Glad I have plenty of time to give to this book.

This is my first Henry James novel. He writes in an interesting way - very long sentences - but so far I'm enjoying it.

I read this one last year. I started it several years earlier and finally returned to it. I found it hard to engage and adding audio to the book helped me.

The endless dancing around Milly’s illness is driving me crazy. Even the doctor seems to gloss over how severe it is. What does she actually know? What should we surmise?
I’m about 2/3 through now, we have gotten to Venice, and I am tired of Milly.
