Does anyone check this group anymore?

Hey, has anyone seen the new Gabriel Hunt series Leisure is starting this month? Here's a link: http://www.huntforadventure.com/

I know very little about the books myself, but the cover and series synopsis scream pulpy adventure:

From the towers of Manhattan to the jungles of South America, from the sands of the Sahara to the frozen crags of Antarctica, one man finds adventure everywhere he goes: GABRIEL HUNT.

Backed by the resources of the $100 million Hunt Foundation and armed with his trusty Colt revolver, Gabriel Hunt has always been ready for anything—but is he prepared for the adventures that lie in wait for him?

And...are you?

Sounds very Doc Savage-y to me. On the downside, each book is written by a different author. At least they are giving them credit (on the website anyway). I'll pick up the first few and see how it goes.

There's a website with the first chapters of several books, so you can see for yourself. Pulp adventure certainly. Nothing like Doc Savage, though.

I think there is supposed to be actual fantasy elements in the stories, as opposed to the always-revealed otherwise (well, except for the very end one) of the Doc stories.

Man, I thought I was breaking a story here.

What do you think BlueTyson, will you be picking them up?

I'll get the first few to see how it goes, but I do wish the same auhor wrote at least the first few books, to establish a 'feel' if nothing else.

Sure, I'll give it a go. (Have to read the first chapters of the other books, but the first one was entertaining enough).

I think Christa Faust might be doing one, so that should be interesitng. I really like her.

I do tend to like this sort of thing, of course.

Could this group be revived? I have just started reading pulp fiction - a book by Christa Faust. I'd like some recommendations for more in that line... more detective, gorgeous detective, snappy dialogue, etc rather than bordering on sci-fi.
