- Lane Cove Library is located at Library Walk, Lane Cove. Lane Cove Council recently extended and refurbished the Library. The new Library was officially opened in July 2010. The extension/refurbishment increased Library space from 1,203 sq m to 3,301 sq m - exceeding state benchmarks and community expectations.
The Library provides meeting and training rooms with state-of-the-art AV; study and lounge areas; display and exhibition spaces; Marjorie Barnard Local Studies Room; Junior Library, Storytime Room and Youth Room; printing and photocopying, public PCs and Wireless Internet. Lane Cove Library has a large collection of fiction and nonfiction books, including an extensive World War I and World War II collection. Other collections include Large Print books, Magazines, Local and Family History, Literacy, Audiobooks, Music CDs and DVDs. The Library offers a range of programs including Preschool Storytime, Possum Play (baby lapsit), school holiday activities, Movies @ Lane Cove, Knit-ins, Author and Health Talks, BookChats, and Local/Family History workshops. Regular sales of donations and discarded stock are very popular with the community.
A Home Library Service operates from the Library, with staff delivering library items to housebound residents and their carers as well as visiting local nursing homes and retirement villages.
The Library is a member of the Shorelink Library Network, allowing residents to borrow books from libraries throughout Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Other Shorelink Libraries include Manly, Mosman, Stanton (North Sydney) and Willoughby Libraries.
Greenwich Library
A small Branch Library is located at 48 Greenwich Rd, Greenwich, offering a range of fiction and nonfiction books, Large Print books, Magazines, Audiobooks, Music CDs, and DVDs. Public PCs; photocopying and printing facilities are also available. - Hinzugefügt von
