When I initially saw the synopsis, I was just thinking "what the crap?!" Anyway, Mia has been pursuing her music at Juilliard and Adam's band has taken off and reached rock star status. This story is told in Adam's POV and you see his turmoil during these years without Mia. God, it broke my heart. By a twist of fate, Adam and Mia meet in New York after all that time and explore the city together before they each have to leave the next day. I enjoyed seeing how they interacted but they kept dancing around the big elephant in the room -- like, hey Mia, why did you go and break my effing heart? I think I was mad at Mia for a large part of this book and it detracted from how I felt about the story. Of course the book was emotional, especially the flashbacks and seeing what Adam went through. However, while emotional and while I teared up in a few parts, it wasn't as soul crushing as If I Stay. Adam Wilde. Oh Adam. My heart ached and I just wanted to hold him for most of the book. I loved that it was in his POV. Was there ever such a perfect boy? One of my favorite aspects of this book was the music and each chapter opened with a snippet of lyrics from one of his songs. It added a lot to the story since the majority of his music is about what he's feeling. It made me wish Adam was REAL so I could go and buy his album because I want to listen to it!! I really enjoyed this emotional addition to Adam and Mia's story but I think I liked If I Stay more. Maybe If I Stay touched me more or maybe I was just upset at Mia for too long.  Os dilemas de Mia e Adam são exatamente os mesmos que provavelmente aconteceram várias vezes nas vidas de muitas pessoas que você e eu conhecemos e jamais chegamos a ficar sabendo. Constatar esse fato, saber disso com tanta certeza, transforma uma história de perda, dor e decisões em um verdadeiro horror existencial. Como se pode resolver o que é absolutamente normal? Como se pode encontrar abrigo do que já está resolvido?  As I read WHERE SHE WENT I felt a weight settle in my chest. Adam's pain and loss was so palpable that certain passages left me without the ability to breath. I was so overcome with emotion that I was left bereft of tears. I understood Adam's anger, sympathized with Mia's decisions and was a willing captive to their journey. I truly enjoyed the music lyrics that introduced certain chapters it is one of my favorite bits that add to the magic of this book. Gayle Forman is an amazing talent and she has returned with a story that is filled with love, anger, heartbreak and hope. In "Lovesong" erzählt Gayle Forman die Geschichte von Mia und Adam aus "Wenn ich bleibe" (vgl. BA 4/10) weiter. Nach einem schweren Autounfall, bei dem Mia ihre Familie verloren hat, lag sie im Koma. Sie hat sich aber entschlossen zu leben. Obwohl Adam ihre grosse Liebe ist, trennt sie sich von ihm. Drei Jahre später: Adam ist mittlerweile ein grosser Rockstar, doch lebt er wie in einem Albtraum. Ohne Tabletten kann er seinen Alltag kaum bewältigen. Kurz vor einer grossen Tournee, erfährt er, dass Mia ein Cello-Konzert in New York gibt. Er besucht dieses Konzert. Danach passiert etwas Unerwartetes - Mia will ihn sehen. Gemeinsam streifen sie durch das nächtliche New York, vielleicht um sich zu verabschieden. Auf jeden Fall soll Adam Antworten bekommen, auf Fragen, die ihn seit 3 Jahren bewegen. Nachdem "Wenn ich bleibe" aus Mias Sicht geschrieben ist, nimmt Gayle Forman jetzt Adams Perspektive ein. Rückblenden erklären, was in der Zeit seit dem Unfall passiert ist. Die Hauptpersonen haben sich weiterentwickelt und machen das Buch erneut zu einer bewegenden Geschichte. Gerne empfohlen!
