This book will be useful both for students on the undergraduate social work degree and those considering whether to apply for the postgraduate Masters qualification. It is split into two sections: Preparing for Social Work (which covers qualification in all parts of the UK) and Practising Social Work (which deals with six main areas of practice).
A useful feature is that each chapter ends with a summary, a list of recommended reading and relevant web links for that area.
Some of the information about registration as a social worker in England is already out of date, as there have been changes to the relevant bodies since the book’s publication in 2010. However, this is quite a minimal part of the book.
