A young slave girl slowly gathers bits and pieces of information, and cloth, and stitches together a map to her family as well as freedom.
Personal reaction:
The story makes you see just how desperate people were to get away from such awful conditions. Also how the community came together to help Clara make an accurate map while keeping it all hushed gives you an example of the support you could get from your community.
