In a rhythmically-written conversation between parent and child, Mama lists her son's many good traits--from physical attributes to behavior--and though he dismisses each quality as just a little thing, Mama explains that there is nothing little about love.

This story is about a boy who wants to know what's special about him. Through his mother, the boy learns about himself. He learned that he knows how to help his mother to cook, share toys with his friends, and saying polite words.

A young African-American boy wants to know, so badly, that he is special. This author, K. Evans provides a wonderful peek into a family that is loving, accepting, and supportive. The family in this book are great role models for all families and the book shows wonderful diversity. However, African-American children may identify more with this book, but the mother and son can be aspired to and really all children can identify with, about acceptance and self-love/parental-love.

Beautiful artwork that is textured and is full paged. It is eye-catching and makes the story come alive! Keeps you interested from page to page and waiting to hear more. J. Steptoe is very talented.

For ages: 3-6 about. i think this would be a good book to start in preschool to start teaching some more self-concept stuff.

This book is all about a little boy asking his mama what makes him special. At the end the boy realizes everything that makes him special comes from his heart.
