I liked the characters and the ambiance a lot. Romance, mystery, great food, fabulous locations, history, art -- excellent combination to create a fun read. ( )
Reviewed by Aubrey Book provided by contest win at Romance Junkies Review originally posted at Romancing the Book I found it very hard to get into this novel. I’m not sure if it is because it is the fourth in the series and I didn’t know the background of the characters or the love story of Penny and Jeremy. I usually love books that are based on the premise of this novel. I just felt that the characters were all over the place. I enjoyed the dialogue between all the characters but it could have been more concise and tighter. I did however feel like I was stepping into Penny’s life. The descriptions of their locations was vivid and entertaining. The author did an excellent job of describing their travels in minute detail. I liked that she wrote a lot about the food and their travels. The main characters had a great relationship. Penny was witty and sarcastic. Jeremy was gallant and the man a lot of women hope for. However I could not relate to either main characters because I have never been wealthy as they are. I did like seeing how they do live their lives. They made an excellent pair. Their apparent love for each other is the reason why I want to go and buy the first three books of the series. I’m sure after reading the first three I will have a deeper appreciation for this novel.
