Cameo Renae, your debut novel is a HIT – you nailed it! You wrote an amazing story and added an amazing cover. This is a great Young Adult story that deals with such strong emotions and heavy issues. There are feelings of love, loyalty, grief, fear, and more while dealing with relationships, betrayal, death, and danger. I loved the twists incorporated into this story. As soon as I thought everything was falling back into place, BAM! Ms. Renae would throw that twist in there and start the action right back up! This novel was also jam packed with emotions; you just might need some tissues nearby while you’re reading. The author would add in some humor at just the right time to help balance out your tears though. If you like YA Paranormal Romance, then I would definitely recommend this book to you. Overall, I give “In My Dreams” by Cameo Renae 4.5 STARS!

The summary can tell you about the book, but I will briefly reiterate it for you.

Seventeen year old Elizabeth “Lizzy” Hayes and best friend/boyfriend Michael Young have loved each other for most of their lives. On the day of their fourth anniversary, the always punctual Michael was late. Lizzy fell asleep and had a vision of Michael dying only to be awakened with the news that he really did die. When Lizzy was a young child she used to have premonitions in the form of dreams of people dying. The dreams had stopped for years and resurfaced the night of Michael’s death. From that point on, Lizzy had dreams of Michael where they would have real contact with each other (it was easier for new spirits to make contact through dreams). Michael refused to crossover to his afterlife until he was sure Lizzy was safe. He was murdered and Michael knew his murderer was coming after Lizzy; he would do whatever it takes to make sure she was safe. Will Michael’s murderer catch up to Lizzy? Can Lizzy stay safe and survive with the help of Michael? Will her dreams of him give her the strength that she needs to go on? Or will Lizzy be joining Michael in death sooner rather than later? Okay, this 4.5 STAR book is a great read! I really liked it, and I think that if you normally like YA novels you would like this book as well – especially if you are into the Paranormal Romance genre. I thought the love story between Lizzie and Michael was beautiful – simply amazing, it is a love that everyone dreams of experiencing; I certainly wish I could find that kind of love. I also enjoyed the supporting characters, such as Lizzy’s best friend Emily. Emily is so full of life and she made me laugh, and I also liked her because she believed in the paranormal. I appreciated the lessons that this story taught readers as well. The loyalties were great between the characters, but when betrayals did occur we learned that sometimes forgiveness is best.

I suggest adding “In My Dreams” by Cameo Renae to your TBR (to be read) list.

Cameo writes for the YA audience with plenty of frenetic action and emotional high and low points that will ignite the adolescent psyche! The intense love of Lizzy and Michael, Ms Renae's primary protagonists, transcends the barriers of death and keeps Lizzy one step ahead of his possible killer, who may also be coming for her.

This book is a suspense thriller securely wrapped in the paranormal with beautiful, tragic characters, which is sure to make it a fantastic book for the YA market and for adults who like to trip over the line into young adult literature. ( )

In My Dreams by Cameo Renae is an absolute must read! We start off meeting Lizzy Hayes, who is currently waiting for her boyfriend to pick her up for a special date. But instead of Michael showing up, she receives a phone call with the sad news that Michael has been in a car accident. Lizzy’s world is turned upside down as she struggles with finding out the truth and trying to survive without her soulmate.

I found myself tearing up throughout the book as the heart breaking pain rolled off of the pages in waves. But not only pain and suffering are felt, as this is a true love story about a love that will last forever, even in death. The reader will experience the sadness, love, joy, courage and determination of each character involved.

There really isn’t anything more that I can say that expresses how much I enjoyed In My Dreams so do yourself a favor and get your own copy today. I know I’ll be getting a print copy as well to put on my bookshelf because I will be reading it again. ( )

Wow, I've been reading some pretty good books lately!! I really enjoyed In My Dreams and how Lizzy could see Michael in her dreams, even though he was dead. The dream scenes were really cool and it was fun seeing how Lizzy reacted and interpreted them. I was really sad that I didn't get to read about when Michael was actually alive, but the story was about his death, so I guess it makes sense that it should start with the night he died. I liked the kidnapping and mystery part of this book, so it wasn't another frilly, fluffy YA book that I usually enjoy reading. Lizzy was a great protagonist to read about and what I love is that she actually gave up at a couple of points in the book. She wasn't perfect and she wasn't strong and amazing. She gave up and it was Michael that actually made her not give up. I think that this book may have moved a little fast and it could have slowed down a bit. Also, I didn't really like the whole fight between Jonathan and Ayden because I feel like that part was just thrown in for an ending, but I liked the very ending with Lizzy and what she sees in her dreams. I hope that because of that ending, there's going to be a second book because I would love to read more about Lizzy! If you want a sweet paranormal romance with a tad bit of thriller mixed in, you should definitely read In My Dreams! ( )

Lizzy has dreams that seem more like premonitions some times. So when she has some bad dreams involving her boyfriend Michael, she begins to worry. Her worries are soon justified when Michael's parents call to tell Lizzy that he has passed away. Now Lizzy's life has been turned upside-down, and Lizzy has to try and make sense of it all. Her dreams are her one place of comfort though, as she gets to communicate with Michael there. She soon learns the truth surrounding his death and that she is in danger. What follows is an exciting adventure that crosses both real life and Lizzy's dream world. At its heart though is a sweet romance and proof that true love will overcome any obstacles.

I really enjoyed this book. I found that the author has a beautiful sense of phrasing. The story flowed so well. I was immediately drawn into the book. One thing I really appreciated was that the romance was able to be sweet without being too cloying. I enjoy romance, but I think sometimes it can overcome the other aspects of the plot. I felt that didn't happen in this case though. Michael and Lizzy were a great pair, and I was cheering for them. This book is a super fast read, and I really wanted to read it all in one sitting. There was a lot of action, but I never felt like it was too rushed. Overall, I think this is a great read for anyone who loves romance and paranormal books.
