(1891-1948), by Mary Eisenman Carson (read 8 Aug 2011) This book is about Father Sylvester, who was at Marty, SD till he died in 1948. The book tells very well of the untiring and able work that he did for the Indians . He worked unceasingly for the Indians in that area. The account shows the herculean labors he devoted to those in his charge. This is a most inspiring book and made me want to go to Marty to see the church he built and his grave. Mapquest tells me it is 134.14 miles from my home and it will take 2 hours and 14 minutes to get there (
