An Interesting Read

“The Revelation Gate” is parallel to that of the birth of Christ. It’s a tale of Isoke wanting a child but remained barren until the holy rain. Aitan, Isoke’s husband, had other wives but was never intimate with Isoke. Aitan knew that his brother possessed feelings for his wife so when Isoke became pregnant, Aitan questioned the pregnancy. Could it be his brother’s child or that of the holy rain?

“The Revelation Gate” is my first read by Brian L. Thompson, and I must say that his writing style took me by surprise. Thompson does a wonderful job capturing the reader’s attention in showing love among family, trust, survival of the fittest, secrets, death, murder, faith, sacrifice, lust, betrayal and the strength of a mother to keep her child alive. My two favorite characters were Isoke for her strength and Chimelu because of his kindness, compassion, and honor.
