After the Buddy Read of 5/16/20 Reread My new rating is
3.75 Stars. That rounds up to 4 Stars.
I actually enjoyed it a lot more during my Buddy Read. The suspense & tension of Mal's & Danika's situation just captured my interest more this time around.

The ending was where the 'saccharine' bit comes in. It also felt rushed & I would have liked just a bit more. A couple more paragraphs or an epilogue would have gone a long way.

I liked it, but didn't love it. I liked that it gave good closure on Danika. I also like that it brought into focus that there are people who can be trusted in The Enforcement Agency that are working towards capturing criminals and evil psychopaths.
I gave it 3 stars because the romance parts were a bit saccharine for me personally, and the action/adventure parts a bit to rushed. ( )

It was ok. I think I'm ready for this series to wrap up. I'm looking forward to Chase's story but more for closure than anything else. I like the series, it's just run its course. (2.5 stars) ( )

Second chances can be wonderful. Love the big, bad, protector who saves his girl. This is a novella so everything is abreviated, and it helps that they new each other from the past. Malcolm is working for an evil breed to avenge his mate, when he crosses paths again with Danika. Danika is a widow, her mate was in the Order. She insults and sticks her nose into dangerous business and Malcolm must come to her rescue, blowing his cover.

There's a lot of good things in this novella and a few little things that niggle at me. A nice little second chance romance.
