I was already bored by the time the members of the group who found the body were allowed to go home by the police. It takes a lot to get me to abandon a book once I've started, but this one managed it. ( )

Enjoyed this book, quick read kept my interest. ( )

Vacation with friends, sparkling beaches, delicious food, what more can one want when going to the Hamptons? Well, maybe, no murders and yet dead bodies are discovered and three murders are a part of the plot.

The twelve step program references were right on: helping each other through crisis, group support and dealing with the fall out from addictions. Weaving the pot with this sub-theme was very nicely done, and it was a plus to use this in the plot. A plot of a time-share holiday for various 12-step programs and all the personal/recovery problems they bring along as excess baggage does not hinder this excellent work. Well done, and surprises at the end was the best part. .

I loved this 3rd in a series and now have a new "beloved" author to follow. Bruce Kohler put twists and turns and who killed whom into his novel, which kept me reading until the end. I will get the other two but they were not necessary to enjoy this third one.

A political aspect is thrown in when ecologists are wanting to save the dunes from development and the selling of farms. This did not take away from this being a light, easy to read mystery. ( )

Bruce, Jimmy and Barbara are on vacation out on Long Island. When a woman from their "house", a dry house, is found dead, Barbara and Bruce are determined to find out why, and who.

There is a lot of good information on the battle between the environment and the developers, the local population and the summer visitors and the battle against the desire to start drinking again.

You wouldn't think a series about a recovering alcoholic would work but this series not only works but is very well done and interesting to read. ( )
