Like the first book in the series ([b:Sealing the Deal|11934735|Sealing the Deal (Sex Sells, #1)|Kim Dare|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1309712887s/11934735.jpg|16895567]), Waking up Naked is an interesting D/s story which is more about the relationship between an experienced Dom and a virginal sub than hardcore BDSM action. This allows for a lighter tone than you find in many BDSM stories, and even some genuine laughter. Both from me, because parts of the story and observations were really funny, and from the characters themselves. I love it when the sex is fun, and there was quite a bit of that here.

Carl is so inexperienced it isn’t even funny. A virgin on all fronts, all he knows is that he wants to be Miles’s sub. Waking up naked in the man’s bed should be a dream come true – except it develops into a absolute nightmare when he cannot remember a single thing of what happened the previous evening or night. Miles believes it is a matter of trust and won’t let him get closer – almost destroying Carl. When he finally manages to explain why the memory (or lack of it) is so important, the one obstacle between them is removed. But let me tell you, it was like watching someone pull teeth!

Miles thinks he knows it all – and is more than disappointed in Carl’s lack of trust. By the time he figures out what the real issue is, because Carl yells the truth at him in his desperation, he is also big enough of a man to admit that not understanding the issue was partly his fault. He had no clue what Carl was thinking. Once he knows what’s wrong he sets about fixing the situation. That’s when the story goes from simmering to really hot!

This is a great exploration of the mind of the inexperienced sub and what happens when he meets an experienced (but still sometimes clueless) Dom. Sparked by the physical attraction between the two characters, the actual relationship goes much deeper.

Recommended for everyone who likes Kim Dare stories, enjoys trying to puzzle out interpersonal mysteries, and likes a sense of humor peeking in – during sex as well as the odd BDSM scene. This story is a very interesting mix of all three of the above.
