DC's resistance to every New 52 #1 being an origin story kind of makes the first few issues of this confusing (there's a lot of "wait, that's already a thing?"). However, Francis Manapul's art is so good (every single title page feels like it actually earns that "DC Comics Proudly Presents" tag), and it does eventually find so,e traction. Overall a shaky but ultimately good start. I liked this way more than I thought that I would. I remember reading The Flash when I was a kid, and didn't much care for it. I've changed and so has the series. It helps that I am a fan of the t.v. show, I suppose, but I liked this book better. I have one complaint, and it's not insignificant. The cast - lead, supporting and baddies alike - are so very white. Barry works at a police station where all of the cops with speaking parts are white, everyone in the crime lab is white with one exception. Barry's college buddy who plays prominently does have darker hair and a name that could be Hispanic, so perhaps he is as well. I normally don't notice these things in comic books, because either I am woefully oblivious or other books are doing a better job. Maybe it was more noticeable because the show does have a more realistic representation of the communities we live in. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

As Mob Rule wages a campaign of crime across Central City, including an electromagnetic blast that plunges the city into darkness, The Flash learns the only way he can capture Mob Rule and save Central City is to learn how to make his brain function even faster than beforeâ??but as much as it helps him, it also comes with a steep price.
