Aurora has the crappiest superpower on the planet. And it's just unleashed a hit squad from hell. Demons are on the hunt, salivating to carve her carcass into confetti. The Hex Boys--mysterious, hunky, and notorious for their trails of destruction--have the answers Aurora needs to survive. But their overload of deadly secrets and suspicious motives makes trusting them a potentially fatal move. The battle to save her family, herself, and stop demonic domination may cost Aurora everything worth living for, and force her to reveal her own dark secrets. But no worries. She needs the Hex Boys to pull this off, and, chances are, teaming up with these guys will get her killed anyway.… (mehr)

I never saw so much action and funny scenes in a book as this one!
It was imaginative, a breath of fresh new air in the YA Fantasy. It's such a shame that it's unknown by so many readers.

The book had many great ingredients: a bunch of young fine men named The Hex Boys who will certainly cause you a major swooning disaster; tons and tons of action that will leave you breathless, a new and nice view on hunting demons and the fantastic superpowers each character is bestowed with, and most importantly: relentless laughing. GOD! I lost count of the times Aurora and Aiden cracked me up with their witty teasing and not just them, all the Hex Boys were cute and funny, even Aurora's siblings.

The ending left me a little disappointed, not a cliffhanger but I couldn't know what exactly was going on and it's too bad there's no information about the second book. Wanna have more of Mathias!! ( )

I can't believe I waited so long to read this! Its funny, endearing and fast paced. I loved the characters and just got so wrapped up in the story. Its an interesting spin on what could have been just another demon book and I loved it! ( )

Demons at Deadnight is such a fun and enjoyable read, I didn't want it to end! Teenagers fighting demons with super powers and along comes a girl who has a secret. She too has a secret, she is the one their group is looking for. She isn't sure why. They may be trying to kill her along with the demons. It is fast action and sprinkled with lots of humor. I giggled frequently! A great book with fun characters and plot, wonderful dialogue and fun fantasy.... on to book two! ( )

4.5 out of 5 stars

When you open this book you're dove headfirst into the middle of a fight. Most books usually build up to that moment, giving you at least a couple of really slow chapters to start off with - time to get to know the main character and such. This book? You start off and straight away our heroine is in trouble and running from something nasty. And honestly, at first that was super confusing to me. So much so that I gave serious thought to putting the book down, giving up in frustration and complete confusion.

Man am I happy I didn't though.

What a ride. Huge bonus points to the fact that all of the characters are very well fleshed out throughout the series. Well..... The main character and the Hex Boys at least. Her family I'm still a little confused on at some points, but that's possibly due to so many siblings and not enough interaction between Aurora and all of them for me to have a clear picture; hopefully that gets better in the next book(s).

My favorite part was all of the different personalities. I'm forever a sucker for a book that has a bunch of well fleshed out characters who are all very different from one another; since some books tend to suffer from what I like to call bleed-together-issues - when basically all of the other characters apart from the main protagonist and the love interest(s) just kind of bleed-together to the point that I don't even know or care who is who because they all sound / feel / talk / react the same and have very little to add to the story apart from bits of dialogue here or there. [b:Demons at Deadnight|16067683|Demons at Deadnight (Divinicus Nex Chronicles, #1)|A&E Kirk|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1349395185s/16067683.jpg|18444693] did NOT suffer from bleed-together-issues; much. At least not where the boys and Aurora are concerned - her family (especially the siblings) could use some work though.

The small issues with bleeding-together family members and the super confusing constant action sequences in the first couple of chapters are the only reason why this book is getting a 4.5 and not a flat out 5 from me. Everything else about this book was literally perfect and felt so real that I could imagine these things happening down the street from me to one of my neighbors.

Obviously the book is really only meant for those who have interest in Supernatural / Romance / Butt kicking type of stories. I wouldn't recommend if you have very little interest in shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Vampire Diaries - etc. Because this book probably won't fall down your alley of things that will get your blood pumping and make you sit up a little straighter in bed, struggling on to read the next chapters because you don't want to fall asleep just yet. But if you like any of those things and don't mind taking a wild ride, then I would highly recommend you pick up this book. NOW. ( )
