Though there aren't many words in this book is has a great message of trying new artistic expressions, whether it be painting, drawing, writing, cooking or dancing. The message here is how the book ends and is a great message for children "No thought too great. You think. We'll wait." This message entices children to take a chance on any thought they may have and learn how to express their thoughts through creative mediums, without fear. I enjoyed this book but do wish is had more of a story line to it but further bring the message to life. ( )

I did not practically like this book. It used short, two words per line and about two lines total on each page. I do not think I would use it as a mentor text for children, but I did think this book could get children's imaginations flowing. So I might consider using it for a prerequisite to an art activity. ( )

This is a great book to encourage children to think big and create art. Children learn that art can be created in various forms like music, acting, drawing, and so on. In the end they learn that they can all come together and create something big, using their various talents.

'Think Big' is definitely a book that will introduce some new words to a young child's' vocabulary. Words like hue, stroke, and purl. Each page introduces the reader to a new form of creating art, whether it be traditional forms like painting and clay, or more abstract forms of art like theater, cooking and dancing. Each page is illustrated to bring the reader further into the book and Vanessa Newton, the illustrator, took special care to include multiracial characters, which we can all agree is much needed nowadays.
