When his stage is held up, driver Wes Brian is lucky to get away with his life, let alone his cash. He asks his broker, Frank Bayard, to invest his life's savings - but what he doesn't know is that Bayard is a double-crossing swindler who'd sell his grandma for a profit. So when ageing miner John Hostetter comes in to sell a busted claim, Bayard sinks Brian's money into it - only to discover that due to a sample mix-up, the mine is worth a million. But the day he erases Brian's name on the deed and inserts his own, he initiates an unexpectedly lethal chain of events...
