Mostly enjoyable read. I thought the writing was very good but parts of the story were weak and didn't make sense. 3.5/5 ( )

In this second book of Anna Randol’s Sinners Trio series it is Clayton/Cipher’s turn at happily ever after.

Now I know this author can tell a good story, but it’s her plots so far that I’ve been having a hard time with. If I had a hard time suspending belief in the first book of this series, this one made even harder.

I would love to tell you more, but I really don’t want to put forth any ‘spoilers’ so here’s what I did like.

The characters were strong and compelling with enough of emotional depth for me to like them, but it’s their past that I had a hard time finding credible, and in the end it all sounded unrealistic.

I do recommend it on the writing and characterization alone, but plot wise, be ready to take a leap. If you can do that, and you like betrayal stories with some adventure and intrigue, you’re good to go with this one.

Written with Ms. Randol usual style of adventure,danger, romance, betrayal,intrigue and passion. This is Clayton Campbell,the Wraith and Olivia Swift's story. Olivia's betrayal almost sent Clayton to the gallows year prior, now he is set on revenge or is he? Love this author's stories, and this one was no different. Filled with just the right amount of danger, and passion, you can not go wrong with "Sins of A Ruthless Rogue". The Wraith, is ruthless until it comes to his lady love, Olivia,than all bets are off. why is it all the damaged bwooding hero-like characters are assholes lately? I mean really. and I liked how in regency era russia everyone spoke perfect english. from the serfs up. ( )

Sins of a Ruthless Rogue by Anna Randol is a historical romance novel published by Avon and set for a March 2013 release. Olivia and Clayton were in love as teenagers. But, when Clayton accuses Olivia's father of criminal behavior, Olivia refused to believe it. So, begins her betrayal of the man she loves. For ten years, Olivia has lived with the knowledge she caused Clayton to be hanged. She has had to take over her father's mill and to keep it going she has herself done things less than honorable. The last thing on earth she ever expected was to find that Clayton had not died after all and now he plans to exact his revenge on Olivia and her father by taking the mill. But, before he can act, Olivia is kidnapped and Clayton must rescue her. Once Clayton finds Olivia, the two of them become mired in espionage , revolutionaries , and intrigue. Clayton's heart has hardened in the ten years he has been a spy. He sure doesn't trust Olivia. He feels responsible for her having been kidnapped and that is the only reason he went after her. He is plagued by doubts about where her loyalties lie and is relentless in his cold hearted treatment of her. Olivia on the other hand has lived the past ten years with her guilt. Now, she feels responsible for the way Clayton turned out. The more time the two spend together the more they realize that their feelings for each other never went away. But, will Clayton be able to understand that forgiveness doesn't imply weakness? Just when I was about to give up on finding a 2013 historical romance release that I really, really enjoyed, I found this one. I think the title of the book would imply yet another regency period romance novel with all the scoundrels, scandals and so on, but don't let the title fool you. This book is packed with action, spies, secrets, and romance. Revolutionaries are trying to kill the Emperor and Oliva and Clayton must break a code in order to save his life. The mill and what will happen once they return home is always in the back of Olivia's mind and she must ultimately decide if the mill is more important to her than Clayton, and Clayton must make that same choice.Both Olivia and Clayton are really stubborn. Clayton's character was over done just a little bit at times, but if I had been betrayed and nearly hanged, then made to become a spy, I might be a tad bitter too. Olivia had come a long way from the fifteen year old girl that Clayton had once loved. She was no longer spoiled and pampered, but had become a smart, strong and brave woman. I loved the adventure in this one . This historical romance is original, clever, and hard to put down. Highly recommend! The one gets an A. Thanks to Avon and Edelweiss for the ARC. ( )
