Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Not all that glitters is gold.

Nikolai Krasnorada leads the life of a corporate nomad. Working for a gold explorations company, he's never put down roots, and he likes it that way. Roots can be dangerous, as everyone from his "man-hating" sister to his manipulative mother to his war-traumatized father has proven.

But when his CEO sends him to Toronto to strike a deal with LeBeau Mining, Nikolai meets Henri LeBeau, crown prince to the resources conglomerate and inveterate flirt. Sparks fly immediately, despite the business deal that threatens to go sour and Nikolai's own reluctance to give Henri false hope about him being Mr. Right. He's barely come to terms with his bisexuality, and getting involved with Henri would get messy.

When LeBeau Mining launches a hostile takeover bid, Nikolai and Henri find themselves on opposite sides of the negotiating table. But fortunately—or perhaps unfortunately—for Nikolai, Henri's not nearly as interested in his company as he is in his heart.

The only I liked were Vadim and Nikolai, whom I adored in [b:Special Forces - Veterans|7927995|Special Forces - Veterans (Special Forces, #3)|Aleksandr Voinov|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1269793877s/7927995.jpg|11245777]. Otherwise I found Henri, the plot and the situations flimsy. ( )

This was soooo different from those *other* books featuring a Krasnorada :)

Gold Digger was a short and fun corporate romance set in the world of gold mining. I confess I skipped over the family-drama bits with Anya and Katya, but it was good to meet Vadim again. Both Nikolai and Henri are gentle men (ha!), and their path to happiness was sweet and sexy and very low-angst. So this is different from my usual fare because angst is my lifeblood. But it was an entertaining read, nonetheless, and I liked that it was set in Toronto because of the familiar references to Tim Horton's, Lakeshore Boulevard and Fairmont Royal York.

My benchmark for corporate thrillers/romances is the "Return on Investment" series by the same author. ( )

I was hoping for more to be honest. The story is interesting, I liked all characters but it just wasn’t enough. Not enough and everything happening too fast. The relationship between Nikolai and Henri was despite the kinky sex really cute and I would have liked to read more about it. More about it developing.

Don’t get me wrong, it is a good book and I will read it again but I have read other books by Aleksandr Voinov and I’m spoiled by him. ( )

This was my second read of this fantastic book and I loved it even better the second time around. A lovely story of a lonely man with no sense of family other than his military and business buddies who falls in love with the man he is in the process of doing a high powered deal with. It was heartbreaking, passionate, dirty, sad, happy and romantic. I can absolutely recommend this story to any and all M/M romance fans. I'm quite sure I'll read it a third time some day. ( )

I wish it was a bit longer. I really liked these characters and reading more of Vadim was a treat, but it felt a bit rushed. It's still a good story and recommended. ( )
