Great book loaded with information about these beautiful cats. Having owned one several years ago, I can tell you from experience that this cat is intelligent and has a very unique personality, sometimes latching onto one person only. Ours was very vocal and quite large. He did not like strangers and would snort and hiss at them. Quite a character! I hope I have an opportunity to get another one sometime. ( )

Loved this book. It was the only book about cats I've really sat down and read cover to cover. It was sweet and touching and informative. I really learned about my Maine Coon mix and it gave me some insight into why he is the way he is. Kudos! ( )

While I've been a cat owner for many years, I've never been owned by a Maine Coon cat, and I didn't know much about them. Reading The Maine Coon Cat, this gap in my cat knowledge is now filled.

I enjoyed reading about the history and stories about the Maine Coon, and I loved the book's layout with all the pictures of the Maine Coon. I never realized how many colors there are for this breed. After reading The Maine Coon Cat, I would consider adopting one. ( )

The Maine Coon Cat by Liza Gardner Walsh is a beautiful and informative book. The pictures and illustrations bring out the variety and beauty of the feline. The information is not so technical that older children wouldn't enjoy it. If this were in a library collection, it would be checked out on a regular basis. Older children would enjoy looking at the pictures and reading the side box information.
I am delighted to add this to my non-fiction collection. ( )
