The action, romance and myths woven into the storyline were really well done. I enjoyed Cara's spunk and Rafe's vulnerability. I also liked the toughness of both characters throughout the story. The secondary characters were well written, too.

There were a couple of twists that made reading a pleasure because I thought I had worked some things out but was happy to find my ideas were a little off.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, I would. I plan on picking up the next one in this series. ( )

I saw this book on a display while looking for something new to read and the cover drew my attention. I've never read a Debra Mullins book before, but the synopsis sounded intriguing so I figured I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! This is the first book in Mullins' new Truth Seers trilogy. Rafe Montana is a bounty hunter who has a special ability that allows him to tell if a person is lying by looking into their eyes. He can also find anyone by thinking about them. His latest assignment is to find Danny Cangialosi, a bail jumper. Trouble is that for the first time Rafe can't see the person he is trying to find. Rafe decides to utilize Danny's stepsister, Cara, to find him. Two things happen when Rafe meets Cara -- he's immediately attracted to her and he sees her death. Rafe holds a family secret involving him and one man dead with another critically injured that has left him afraid to be close to anyone. Can he partner with Cara without hurting her, too? When it turns out there are others outside Rafe's family with special powers also looking for Danny things get even more complicated.

This book has plenty of action, a flawed hero, people with special powers, and an interesting mystery surrounding Danny and the crime he committed. This was a great start to the trilogy and I really look forward to the next installment. ( )

When I received my copy of Prodigal Son by Debra Mullins I was a little uncertain. I'm not normally a paranormal-romance girl so I set it aside for when the mood struck. Well, it struck a few days later and that, combined with my curiosity, caused me to pick up the book. What I got in return was a quickly moving, fun, action-filled story that was, unfortunately, chock full of holes.
