Short & sweet! It was fun to see one of John's adventures before he met up with Sig and company. ( )

Very short novella from Elliott James. There was plenty of action but the story was so short I really didn't get much from it. He has a bunch more of these available for the Kindle but I'm not going to bother with them. ( )

A short story in the Pax Arcana universe.

This is John Charming before you know it's John Charming. He's on the run from the Knights and he finds a naked and very confused man wandering by the side of the road. Being a Charming, he can't help but investigate and try to save other people from the supernatural creature harming them.

Cute and short. I recommend reading it after you've read Charming, otherwise it won't make as much sense. ( )

This story is a prequel to Charming, a novel following John Charming (a knight from a long line of Charmings, some known as Prince Charmings). When he sees a guy walking down the road, naked and in really bad shape, he stops to help and realizes he needs to go on a hunt.

There is plenty of play-by-play action and we learn some mythology in this short story set in our world, but where supernaturals and the fae are a big secret. But if I hadn’t read Charming before this, I’m not sure I’d have enjoyed it as much.

Charming is definitely worth reading if you enjoy Urban Fantasy. But perhaps save this story until after you’ve read the novel. ( )
